2019 Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival
Congratulations to Emily Marquez who won "Best Student High School Film" at The 2019 Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival! Emily won a trophy and $500 cash prize! Students from the Creative Video Honors Class who showcased their films also did a Q&A with the audience. See photos below!

2018 AAA TRAFFIC SAFETY CONTEST
Congratulations to Jordie Sanchez and Melanie Pelaez who were the GRAND PRIZE winners for The AAA Traffic Safety Audio/Visual category in the 2018 New Jersey State Competition. They were chosen from over 1,000 entries!
Each received a $500 check and $150 American Express gift card!
Danielle Senise and Lauren Bowden won 2nd place and each received a $75 gift card.

RIDGEWOOD FILM FESTIVAL
Creative video students had their short films showcased at The Ridgewood Guild's 8th Annual Film Festival. The students did a Q&A with the audience talking about their inspiration for their films and the program here at the high school. See the photos below!
Derek Freese Film Festival
Congratulations to Jalixa Mancebo, Kayla Moyeno, and Matthew Ramirez for being finalists in The 22nd Annual Derek Freese Film Festival. Jalixa's film, "Finders Keepers" was nominated for Best Fiction and Best Female Filmmaker. Kayla and Matthew's film, "Sound of Love", was nominated for Best Fiction, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing. |
Fresh Perspectives
Congratulations to Brendan Barton whose cinematography piece "CUBA" was selected for the FRESH PERSPECTIVES HIGH SCHOOL ART EXHIBITION. Over 400 pieces were submitted, of which 50 were selected for exhibition by the judges. This year the judges were Chuck Biczak, Director of Strategy, Communications, and Marketing at Canon USA, Photographer Dwight Hiscano, and Morris Museum Curator Alexandra Willis. The Ridgewood Film Festival
Creative Video Honor students had their film work showcased at The Ridgewood Film Festival on April 26, 2017.
8 films were shown, including a documentary about the STEM program here at Bergenfield High School along with multiple short films. The students also did a Q&A with the audience talking about their inspiration for their videos!
Congratulations to Stephane Lavazais who won 3rd place, out of 6,000 students, in the AAA Public Safety Announcement. Stephane was awarded $100 for his PSA on Safe Teen Driving.

Evelin Mendoza, 11th grade, and Aishwarya Gandotra, 11th grade, won 2nd place in the AAA Traffic Safety Media Contest for their PSA, "Distracted Driving". They will be receiving $250 for their hard work!

"Generation Z"
A film by video students Joey Winter, Zaran Khan, and Anthony Lorelli. Synopsis: A film depicting the youth's obsession with technology. The film revolves around a high school student whom after breaking his phone one morning, begins to realize how involved his peers are with technology. He goes throughout the day noticing the extent to which his peers seem to depend on their smart phones, and he must decide if he will succumb to the societal norms.
